  • What is Dry Needling?

    • Dry needling is a type of modality that involves inserting a thin needle into soft tissue to address restrictions, neurogenic inflammation, and pain. In other words, dry needling can help to:

      • Decrease pain and improve pain perception

      • Decrease tissue tension

      • Improve blood flow

      • Promote anti-inflammation

With your consent and if appropriate, dry needling may be suggested as part of your rehab treatment plan

Dry needling may be offered for general health and wellness. Please contact for more info!

  • Not a problem! Dry needling is only one tool we can use. In fact, some people are not good candidates for dry needling. Other pain management and mobility-focused options include cupping, hands-on soft tissue work, joint mobilizations, PNF techniques, etc.

    • You will be positioned appropriately to target the selected areas - this may require removing short/shirts.

    • Depending on the area, different sizes of thing needles will be inserted. This is where communication will be helpful as certain sensations indicate a good tissue target, while others may require readjustment for comfort.

    • E-stim may or may not be utilized as well. This helps with blood flow, circulation, pain relief, and decreased post-needling soreness.

  • Dry needling is tolerated differently by individuals. Some are more sensitive than others. With that being said, needling may be temporarily uncomfortable (think of a deep tissue massage where it doesn’t feel amazing during but it does after!). This is why at ReMove, we always check in with how you are feeling and move slowly to ensure you are comfortable at all times. With that being said, you are in control and can always change your mind to stop getting needled!
